12 Strong is a 2018 war drama based on the true story of the first U.S. Army Special Forces team sent into Afghanistan right after the September 11 attacks. The twelve soldiers, led by a new captain, join forces with an Afghan warlord to fight the Taliban on horseback and capture a key northern city in brutal mountain terrain.
The film focuses on military courage, teamwork, and resolve in the early fight against terrorism, with straightforward action and no audience-visible identity themes, activist dialogue, or social justice messaging.
