Acts of Vengeance follows Frank Valera, a fast-talking Pittsburgh defense lawyer whose wife and young daughter are murdered after he misses the daughter’s talent show. The police offer little help, so Frank drinks, lets men beat him in an underground fight club, and then trains in karate, judo, and jiu-jitsu. He takes a vow of silence after finding Marcus Aurelius’s Meditations and hunts for the killer while a nurse and a police officer cross his path. The film is a grim, violent revenge thriller with strange humor, dry narration, tough fights, and simple Stoic lessons.
The film’s main lesson is about personal responsibility after grief. Frank sees how his workaholic life and hunger for revenge have damaged him, while Marcus Aurelius pushes him toward self-control. Police failure and a corrupt officer drive the murder mystery and connect the crime to Frank’s past as a defense lawyer. Alma is a nurse who gives Frank practical help during the hunt, and her role stays tied to his grief and search for the killer.

Isaac Florentine has a commercial action career with no documented activist or identity-driven pattern. Matt Venne has a low 13/100 creator score and no documented social-justice or political work.
