Dangerous Lies follows Katie Franklin, a young caregiver who is trying to pay her bills in Chicago. After her wealthy patient Leonard dies, he leaves his estate to her, and Katie and her husband Adam move into his large house. The sudden wealth brings hidden money, a dead former gardener, stolen diamonds, and people who want the house. The film is a tense but uneven thriller about trust, greed, marriage, and survival.
Katie carries the story as she tests the people around her and survives the final attack. Adam is a loving husband whose desire for a better life makes him look guilty, while Detective Chesler follows the clues and later clears him. The cast gives the movie visible ethnic variety, with a Latina lead, a black husband, and an Asian lawyer in important roles. That choice has little effect on the plot, which keeps its attention on money, lies, marriage, and survival.

Creator track record context
Michael M. Scott and David Golden have no clear activist record in the available background. The producers mostly work on commercial television movies. One producer has an LGBTQ+ holiday film credit, and Mary Vernieu has spoken about diverse role models. This gives the title light creator track record context, but no current-film identity message links to it.
