Four years after dinosaurs spread across the world, Claire and Owen hide the teen clone Maisie while Biosyn runs a dinosaur valley and builds giant locusts that spare only Biosyn crops. Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm work to expose Dodgson and the food monopoly scheme. New pilot Kayla Watts helps with the rescue. The story ends with people and dinosaurs sharing the planet after the locust threat is fixed. The main plot stays a rescue thriller about corporate genetic power and living with dinosaurs.
Audience-visible woke elements include Kayla Watts as a black ex–Air Force pilot and central rescuer, plus other prominent black heroes such as Ramsay Cole and Barry. Women drive key action, with Ellie leading the conspiracy plot and Claire as an activist. Kayla has a brief on-screen bisexual cue when she says she likes redheads too, about Claire, and the cast and writers treated that as intentional. Climate and corporate eco stakes sit in the story without long identity lectures. Queer content is short but real, and representation is clearer than a pure race or gender grievance plot.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Jurassic World Dominion.
Woke representation / casting
This modern blockbuster puts a clear representation-forward hero package on screen. Kayla Watts is a black female combat pilot and central rescuer. Other prominent black roles include Ramsay and Barry. Female action leads the story, and press framed Kayla as a deliberate new black hero for girls. On-screen bisexual coding and intentional queer casting add weight beyond ordinary diverse extras.
44%
Woke political dialogue
There is little slogan-style identity speech. A brief bisexual flirt line appears, plus talk about Biosyn cornering the food supply with engineered pests. Ellie and Claire voice ecological and corporate concern without long lecture monologues. Activist language stays in the background next to chase and rescue talk.
18%
Identity-driven story themes
The core plot stays corporate genetic hubris, dinosaur coexistence, and a rescue thriller. It is not a race or gender grievance drama. Still noticeable are the female-led competence structure, climate and eco-collapse stakes, and intentional bi representation. Queer content is incidental but confirmed and press-emphasized, which raises this factor without making identity the main story.
38%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The strongest message layer is Biosyn as a Monsanto-coded agribusiness and genomics villain. It seeks a seed monopoly, uses engineered locusts, and risks ecological collapse for profit. That is classic anti-corporate sci-fi and can feel heavy-handed. It is not a sustained attack on Christianity, traditional family, or toxic masculinity, and men stay capable partners.
34%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Returning characters keep established identities. Dodgson was recast for real-world casting reasons. The Maisie genetics retcon is sci-fi plot mechanics, not an identity or DEI rewrite of a legacy figure’s race, gender, or sexuality.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Documented pushback exists but stays moderate. Some fans and outlets labeled casting, diversity, and throwaway woke moments. Wise acknowledged woke trolling of a black woman in a hero role. Culture-war chatter was limited rather than a large organized boycott, and quality complaints dominated overall reception.
28%
Creator track record context
Cached key creatives are mostly low-activism blockbuster hands. Scores cluster in the low teens, including Trevorrow, Connolly, Carmichael, Crichton, Marshall, and Crowley. Casting directors are mostly low teens except Nina Gold near 45 with a diversity-positive casting stance. The aggregate track record supports commercial franchise work more than identity-politics careers.
