Michael takes his teenage daughter Karen on a weekend trip, but their car breaks down in a small town. He chooses an escape room in an old mansion so they can spend time together while the car is repaired. Karen and Michael join a couple and another player, then face puzzles, locked doors, and a strange story about an inventor who tried to contact the dead. The movie has a slow, uneasy horror tone that grows more confusing as the group finds that the game may never end.
The story follows a strained father and daughter who learn to work together when the escape room turns deadly. Karen notices clues and faces danger, while Michael protects her and learns to trust her judgment. The other players bring different levels of skill and fear as the danger grows. The movie explores ghostly experiments, repeating time loops, trust, and survival, with the family bond providing its main warmth.
