Identity-driven story themes
The core narrative is a standard, Tarantino-style crime comedy about hitmen and gangsters. However, there is a subtle undercurrent of queer subtext. The film features playful, suggestive banter between the two male hitmen leads, and reviewers noted a lingering sexual tension between them, adding a mild, background LGBTQ+ element to the story.
25%
Western institutional / cultural critique
There are no active critiques of Western culture, capitalism, whiteness, or the patriarchy. The main antagonist is an abusive mobster grandfather, but this serves as a standard crime-genre plot device rather than a broader systemic or political critique of traditional family units.
