The Six Triple Eight is a 2024 drama about the real 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-black, all-female Women's Army Corps unit deployed overseas in World War II. The battalion is tasked with clearing a massive three-year backlog of 17 million undelivered letters to boost troop morale. The narrative repeatedly highlights the unit's struggles with racism and sexism from white military superiors and bureaucracy, framing their competence and sisterhood as central to overcoming those barriers.
