Person profile
Personal context
Bob Dylan is a singer-songwriter whose early folk-rock work includes “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’” and “Masters of War”; his later catalog ranges across rock, country and gospel. Early songs addressed civil rights, war and social change, and in 1963 he performed at benefits for the Congress of Racial Equality, a voter-registration rally and the March on Washington. He later rejected the role of political spokesman and became less involved in activist causes. His public record includes those early civil-rights actions and humanitarian fundraising, but no sustained DEI or identity-politics advocacy.
