Carlos Ponce

Personal context

Summary

Carlos Ponce is a Puerto Rican actor, singer, and television host whose work spans Spanish-language telenovelas and U.S. film and television, including Cristela, Couples Retreat, and Spy. His roles range from romantic and comic leads to character parts, without a consistent political or identity-driven theme across his broader credits. In a 2015 interview about Cristela, he said Hispanic actors were underrepresented in Hollywood, called for more diverse casts, and argued that Latino characters should appear in a wider range of roles. In 2024, he partnered with Exact Sciences to promote colon cancer screening among Hispanic adults; no public partisan campaigning or other identity- or DEI-focused advocacy is on record.
