Personal context

Summary

Danny Trejo is an actor known for tough, often criminal characters in films such as Heat, Desperado, and the Machete series. His screen persona draws on his experience with addiction and incarceration, and outside acting he has spoken widely about recovery and mentoring people in prisons and schools. He has also welcomed greater Latino representation in media and said Hollywood still relies on stereotypes of underrepresented groups.
