Deborah Twiss

Personal context

Summary

Deborah Twiss is an actor, writer, producer, and director whose screen work includes Kick-Ass and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She co-wrote and starred in A Gun for Jennifer, a feminist revenge thriller inspired in part by her experience as a New York dancer; its story centers on women retaliating against male violence. Discussing the film’s casting, she said indie films did not reflect New York’s ethnic and sexual diversity, and that this was not representative of the city. She has also spoken about sexual abuse as a matter of power and control; no public party campaigning or DEI organizational role is on record.
