Dr. Dre

Personal context

Summary

Dr. Dre is a rapper, producer, and occasional actor whose work includes the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton and the crime drama The Wash. His public career is chiefly associated with hip-hop, music production, and business; he has also donated to education and community programs, including a performing arts center at Compton High School. While promoting Straight Outta Compton, he said the film should show how much N.W.A. respected women, and later apologized to women he had hurt. No public party campaigning, DEI affiliations, or sustained identity advocacy are on record.
