Personal context

Summary

Francesca Annis is an English actor known for roles in Macbeth, Lillie, Wives and Daughters, and Cranford. In interviews, she has described herself as a staunch feminist when she was young, saying she marched and picketed the Miss World contest, cut her hair short, and turned down film roles because she did not want to be presented as exploiting her sexuality. She later said those views had changed with time. No public statements on party politics, DEI, or other identity causes are on record.
