Hyein Park

Personal context

Summary

Hyein Park is a Korean-Canadian storyboard and story artist whose public record is mainly studio animation craft, not a campaigning or manifesto career. She has worked as a story or storyboard artist on children’s and feature animation including Peg + Cat, Dragons: Race to the Edge, The Peanuts Movie, Toy Story 4, Bao, Soul, Turning Red, Elemental, Elio, and later Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw, and she voiced Abby Park in Turning Red. Those Pixar credits sit on films that others framed around Asian family, immigrant, or belonging themes, but her documented role is hired story-department work rather than authorship of an identity-politics slate. On Instagram she uses she/her pronouns and lesbian and Pride symbols and has posted Pride-month and lesbian-tagged material, which is a clear public identity presentation. Widely reported interviews, donations, open letters, or a repeated creative pattern of DEI, representation-first, or queer-front-and-center original work were not found. The identifiable signals are social identity branding plus incidental work on other creators’ culturally specific films, not an activist or representation-first public brand.
