Summary

James Callis is an English actor known for playing Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica and Tom in the Bridget Jones films; he has also appeared in 12 Monkeys, Castlevania, Star Trek: Picard, and Slow Horses. His roles include scientists, politicians, and morally conflicted figures, but those characters’ themes do not establish his personal politics. In a 2016 interview, he described the U.S. election as “election as parody” and said Donald Trump becoming president would be “a real shame.” No public statements on identity politics, DEI, or activism are on record.
