Leah Purcell is an Australian actor, writer, director and playwright whose screen work includes Wentworth and Redfern Now. Her work often explores Aboriginal identity, frontier violence, racism and gendered violence; her adaptations of The Drover’s Wife recast a familiar colonial story through the experience of an Aboriginal woman.
