Louis C.K.

Personal context

Summary

Louis C.K. is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and director known for Louie, Horace and Pete, and blunt, autobiographical comedy about family life, sex, social norms, and politics. His work often uses deliberately provocative humor, including material mocking gender-neutral identities and pronouns. In 2016, he urged people not to vote for Donald Trump, while also saying he would welcome a conservative president after Barack Obama’s two terms. No public record of sustained advocacy for identity or DEI causes is on record. In 2017, he acknowledged that sexual misconduct allegations from five women were true and said he had wielded his power irresponsibly.
