Marina Foïs

Personal context

Summary

Marina Foïs is a French actor known for her early comedy work with Les Robins des Bois and a wide-ranging film and television career spanning comedy, drama and thrillers, including Darling, Polisse, Le Grand Bain and Furies. Her roles often move between comic and dramatic portrayals of women facing personal or social pressures. She publicly supported the #MeToo response to sexual violence, describing Adèle Haenel’s walkout at the 2020 César ceremony as an expression of women’s anger, and provided narration for the feminist documentary Riposte féministe. She has also criticized the expectation that actors comment on every political issue; no public record of party campaigning or DEI affiliations is established.
