Penn Jillette

Personal context

Summary

Penn Jillette is a magician, comedian, author, and actor, best known as the outspoken half of the long-running duo Penn & Teller. Their work combines magic and comedy with skepticism and social commentary, especially in the series Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, which challenged claims about topics ranging from psychics to politics. Jillette has described himself as an atheist and longtime libertarian, and he sharply criticized Donald Trump in 2020 while saying he supported Joe Biden. He has also defended provocative comedy and criticized speech codes and campus efforts to restrict it; no public advocacy for DEI or identity-based causes is on record.
