Randeep Hooda

Personal context

Summary

Randeep Hooda is an Indian actor known for roles in Monsoon Wedding, Highway, Sarbjit, and the series CAT, often taking on crime dramas, biographical roles, and physically demanding character transformations. He also directed and starred in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, publicly defending the film’s portrayal of its politically contested subject. Hooda was appointed a Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species ambassador for his wildlife-conservation support; the organization later ended the appointment after a resurfaced video from 2012 containing comments it called offensive. No public record of sustained advocacy for identity politics, DEI, or social-justice causes is evident.
