Richard Gere

Personal context

Summary

Richard Gere is an American actor known for films including American Gigolo, Pretty Woman, Primal Fear, and Chicago. His screen work ranges from romantic dramas and thrillers to musicals, with no consistent identity-driven theme defining his roles. Outside acting, he has spent decades advocating for Tibetan human rights as co-founder of Tibet House US and chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet, and has supported HIV/AIDS awareness and homeless services. He has also publicly condemned Donald Trump; no public record of DEI roles or sustained race- or LGBTQ-focused advocacy is evident.
