Personal context

Summary

Sutton Foster is an actor, singer, and dancer known for Broadway roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Anything Goes and for television roles in Bunheads and Younger. Her work often centers on women’s relationships, reinvention, and ageism; she has described Younger as a show about women supporting women. Foster has said she was not a political person, but after George Floyd’s murder she joined the Broadway Advocacy Coalition’s pledge, saying she would learn, grow, and be held accountable, and began having conversations about race and allyship. No public partisan campaigning or ongoing activist affiliation is on record.
