Personal context

Summary

Terrell Carter is an actor, singer, and songwriter whose screen work includes Empire and Tyler Perry productions. In a 2020 interview, he described making “Loves In Need Of Love” after protesting and said he wanted to take part in the Black Lives Matter movement; the song’s video promotes togetherness. In 2025, he said that playing a capable black queer man in Beauty in Black mattered because such characters are often reduced to comic relief or caricature. His public record includes these statements on racial and queer representation, but no documented party affiliation or campaign role.
