Halo is a Paramount+ sci-fi series set in the 26th century that follows super-soldier Master Chief John-117 and his Spartans fighting the alien Covenant while weaving in personal stories of identity, trauma, and human political factions like the UNSC versus insurrectionists.
The show uses a diverse cast and makes clear changes to game source material, including frequent helmet removal for Master Chief, a romantic and sexual subplot, and race-swapped portrayals of legacy characters Jacob and Miranda Keyes.
These casting and character reinterpretation choices stand out as the main audience-visible elements that some viewers notice as shifts from the original stoic warrior focus.
