2021–2024 · Based on 1 season, 8 episodes through August 23, 2024 ·
Murder Drones follows Uzi Doorman, a rebellious teenage worker drone living inside a guarded bunker on the frozen planet Copper 9. Humans have died, and a company sends Disassembly Drones to destroy the workers left behind. Uzi tries to fight back, but she becomes friends with N, a cheerful killer drone who starts questioning his orders. The eight episodes mix bloody robot horror, fast jokes, mystery, family pain, and a growing romance.
The clearest woke-coded feature is the repeated female control of the story. Uzi leads the rebellion and final fight, while V and J lead major fights of their own. Doll and Cyn drive much of the mystery, and Tessa and Nori hold key power, while N often works as Uzi's emotional helper. The show also attacks a company that treats worker drones as disposable labor, but it does not turn that idea into a modern political speech or a direct call for socialism.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Murder Drones.
Woke representation / casting
The show repeatedly gives female characters the main combat and story roles, with Uzi, V, J, Doll, Cyn, Tessa, and Nori driving major events. The male lead N is important, but he often supports Uzi emotionally instead of leading the group. The cast is made of robots, so human ethnicity is not an audience-visible identity signal. The show does not market this pattern as a diversity campaign.
35%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The show uses jokes about “inclusive reflexes” and company work rules, but no character gives a modern identity, gender, or DEI message.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Uzi repeatedly drives the action, solves major problems, and wins the final fight. V, J, Doll, Cyn, Tessa, and Nori also hold many of the strongest combat or plot-control roles. N is usually the kind male partner and emotional helper, while Khan and male classmates often look weak or comic. The show does not say that women should rule or make gender politics its subject, so the pattern is strong but not the whole story.
52%
Western institutional / cultural critique
JCJenson treats worker drones as disposable labor and sends killing machines to erase them after their independence. The old lab and the Elliott family show people using drones as tools, servants, and spare parts. The company, mining, and worker abuse return across the season, so this critique is more than one joke. The show does not call for socialism or tie the conflict to current political groups.
32%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The show is an original story with no established characters or real history being rewritten.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. Public posts that use “woke” are mostly jokes or memes, not a sustained complaint that the show pushes DEI or identity politics. The real criticism centers on rushed pacing, confusing lore, and the finale.
0%
Creator track record context
Not present. The supplied creator records show horror, science fiction, dark comedy, and business backgrounds rather than activist or identity-driven work. The title-related interviews describe a love of horror and cartoons, with no diversity or social-justice framing.
