2017–2019 · Based on 3 seasons through May 25, 2019 ·
Eric Beaumont leads a small crisis team that solves kidnappings, hostage cases, and other dangerous problems. He uses careful questions and human insight instead of force whenever possible. His team works across Canada, the United States, and other countries. The tone is serious, fast, and focused on solving one case at a time. The show has a mixed international cast and gives important jobs to women and minority characters. These choices are presented as normal parts of the team rather than as speeches about diversity. The stories focus on crime, family pressure, greed, guilt, and saving lives. The later seasons keep the same crime-show style without a strong shift toward identity politics or activist messages.

Creator track record context
Frank Spotnitz has used Jewish identity and Nazi persecution as important parts of discussion around other work. That record reflects personal history more than a broad activist or DEI message. David Vainola and the other key creators have low or modest stored scores, with no clear title-specific identity campaign.
