The Eternaut

The show makes group survival the main moral idea across all six episodes. Juan starts with a personal search for Clara, then learns that neighbors, workers, women, migrants, and soldiers are needed to survive. The story gives useful roles to Elena, Ana, Inga, and Pablo instead of keeping the action with the original male friends. The theme is broad solidarity, not a story about race, gender, or sexuality.

The series turns Elena from a small family role into a doctor who helps make decisions and leads parts of the survival effort. The series gives Clara a new name and teenage role, but that change is not itself an identity message. The series presents Pablo with an Asian family, while the source leaves his background less specific. These changes make female action and minority identity more visible than in the original comic.

Some pro-government Argentine voices called the planned adaptation woke, politicized, or linked to Kirchnerism before release. Older Reddit posts predicted a Netflix agenda and forced diversity before anyone had seen the episodes. The complaints focused on expected casting and politics, not on a large wave of detailed scene-by-scene backlash. The evidence is real but small and mostly pre-release.

Bruno Stagnaro has a cached score of 40 and a record of class-focused stories without a steady activist public role. Ariel Staltari and Gabriel Stagnaro have cached scores of 0. Héctor Germán Oesterheld has a cached score of 85 because his later work and political life were strongly left-wing. Martín M. Oesterheld has a cached score of 52 for family memory and military rule history. The current season keeps group resistance but avoids direct modern political speech, so the mixed record supports 45.
