2022–2023 · Based on 1 season, 8 episodes through January 11, 2023 ·
Many years after the original film, Willow leads young heroes across a magical world. The group must rescue Airk, the missing son of Queen Sorsha. Princess Kit struggles with royal duty, love, and her wish to choose her own future. The show combines fantasy action, jokes, romance, and darker magic. Several young women lead the quest, fight battles, rule kingdoms, and shape the group’s choices.
The show gives clear attention to Kit and Jade’s same sex romance, which begins with a kiss in the first episode. The young cast is racially mixed, and the story includes several strong female roles. These choices are easy for viewers to see, but the show rarely uses modern political speeches. The fantasy adventure remains more important than political messaging. The romance and female choice affect the story, while the diverse casting mainly shapes who leads the adventure.
