7500 follows Tobias Ellis, a quiet American co-pilot on a Berlin to Paris flight. Soon after takeoff, armed hijackers attack the cockpit, kill the captain, and trap Tobias inside with a wounded attacker. Tobias must fly the plane, protect the passengers, and keep the cockpit door shut while the cabin falls into chaos. The film uses a tight, near real-time setting and a grim, tense tone, with most scenes taking place inside the cockpit.
The film gives its main identity focus to the Muslim hijackers and the Turkish-German flight attendant Gökce, who is Tobias's partner and the mother of his child. One hijacker says that Western attacks on Muslims have caused suffering and that the attack is revenge. The story then centers on Tobias's growing sympathy for Vedat, a young attacker who loses faith in the plan and helps stop the crash. Its message is that violence and revenge create more violence, but the thriller still presents Muslim terrorists as the threat and keeps the wider debate brief.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for 7500.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The film uses people from several backgrounds on a European flight, which fits the story and location. No diversity-first or identity-framed casting message appears in the film.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Kinan says that Muslims are killed by Westerners every day. He blames Western egoism and lies for new suffering and calls the attack revenge. The film also opens with a Gandhi line about answering violence with more violence. These ideas appear in a short but important speech.
34%
Identity-driven story themes
The film makes the relationship between Tobias and Vedat a major part of its second half. Vedat is shown as a young man who feels rejected and has been pulled into extremist violence. Tobias responds with empathy and tries to save him after the hijacking. The story supports breaking the cycle of revenge. This theme matters to the plot but does not replace the thriller story.
42%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film includes a clear criticism of Western violence through the hijackers' claim that Western actions kill Muslim families and create new suffering. The Gandhi quote and Tobias's refusal to answer violence with revenge support a limited anti-violence message. The cockpit crew, air traffic staff, and police are not shown as corrupt institutions, so the critique stays brief.
28%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original hijacking thriller with no established characters, franchise canon, or real historical figures to change.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No clear anti-woke or right-leaning backlash was found in the available X pass or broader coverage. The visible debate mainly criticized the film for using Muslim hijacker stereotypes, which is not an anti-woke complaint.
