Gridlocked follows David Hendrix, a former SWAT leader who has been moved to routine police work after a bad mission. He must watch over Brody Walker, a spoiled movie star who is doing a ride-along instead of facing a harsher legal penalty. Their uneasy trip takes them to a police training center in upstate New York, where mercenaries attack to steal valuable bonds kept in an evidence room. David, Brody, and the surviving officers must hold the building through a long night of gunfights, betrayals, crude jokes, and brutal deaths.
The film gives Gina, the only woman on the main SWAT team, a visible action role as a skilled fighter and trusted teammate. Her place in a male-heavy police group is treated as part of her strength, and the story lets her fight instead of making her a love interest or a helpless victim. This is the clearest identity signal, but it stays inside a simple action plot and does not become a wider argument about race, gender, or politics. The main message is that a damaged cop and a selfish celebrity can learn to work together when a larger threat forces them to act.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Gridlocked.
Woke representation / casting
The film gives Gina a visible action role as the only woman among the main SWAT fighters. Gina is shown as skilled and able to fight beside the men. Promotion and interviews frame her as a woman proving herself in a male-dominated group. This creates a weak gender-representation signal, but the film has no wider diversity pattern.
18%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue centers on police work, crime, money, and survival. No clear lines push DEI, identity politics, gender activism, or activist causes.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Gina is a lone female member of the tactical team. The story gives her fight scenes and treats her as capable instead of using her as a love interest or helpless victim. That gender-role choice is visible, but it is a small part of a plot about criminals, police, money, and survival. Gina’s later betrayal keeps her from becoming a simple heroic empowerment figure.
12%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The film shows rogue soldiers, corrupt police behavior, and a betrayal inside the team. Those events serve a crime plot about money and survival, not a modern attack on patriarchy, capitalism, Christianity, conservatives, or Western institutions.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original action story with no established characters, source material, or historical figures being changed for identity reasons.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X pass found no anti-woke reaction. Reviewed audience and news coverage discusses action, gore, pacing, and cast choices instead of woke, DEI, or identity-politics claims.
0%
Creator track record context
Not present. The cached scores for the director, writer, producers, and script supervisor are all 0 or 1 out of 100. Their recorded work and title interviews focus on commercial action, practical effects, and genre entertainment. No strong activist, DEI, or identity-driven record is tied to this film.
