Hallow Road follows Maddie and Frank, a married couple who wake to a phone call from their 18-year-old daughter, Alice. Alice says that she has hit a girl on a dark road through a remote forest, so her parents drive out to reach her. Maddie is a former paramedic who wants Alice to help the victim and tell the police, while Frank wants to protect their daughter from prison. The film stays mostly inside their car and builds a tight, bleak horror mood through phone calls, family arguments, and danger that remains out of sight.
The family has already been fighting because Alice is pregnant, uses drugs, and fears what her parents will say about her boyfriend and future. Frank treats the crash as a mistake that can be hidden, but Maddie warns that guilt will follow Alice if she refuses to face it. A strange woman and her husband then appear in the forest and speak about old fairies, punishment, and the harm parents cause when they try to save children from every result of their choices. The final scenes leave room for a grief-driven explanation or a supernatural one, but both versions show a family trapped by love, fear, and denial.
