Annie Graham lives with her husband, Steve, and their two children in a quiet Utah home. After Annie’s secretive mother dies, the family faces a second terrible loss that leaves Peter full of guilt and Annie close to collapse. Annie searches through old family items and finds signs that her mother belonged to a cult. The film moves from tense family drama into bleak supernatural horror.
The story follows a family trapped by grief, blame, and old wounds that pass from one generation to the next. Annie tries to protect her children, but her fear and anger push the family farther apart. The cult wants Paimon in a healthy male body, so Paimon enters Charlie’s body for a time before taking Peter’s body. The ending gives the family no rescue and treats inherited evil as stronger than personal choice.
