Jigsaw follows police detectives and medical examiners who investigate murders that look like the work of John Kramer, a killer who has been dead for years. At the same time, five strangers wake inside a farm barn with metal traps around them. Each person must admit a past wrong and make a painful choice to stay alive. The film uses a dark, bloody, twist-heavy style built around guilt, punishment, revenge, and the value of life.
Anna becomes the main voice among the trapped players, while Eleanor works as a medical examiner who studies Jigsaw's old devices. Detective Hunt joins the case, while Logan's grief over his wife's death and Halloran's corruption shape the ending. Jigsaw judges each victim for theft, cheating, lies, or careless harm, then calls the games a chance to confess. The film's moral focus stays on personal guilt, punishment, revenge, and survival.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Jigsaw.
Woke representation / casting
The film uses white and black actors in police, medical, and victim roles, without making their identities part of the story. The linked “All Types Welcome” blood-drive campaign used transgender and openly gay public figures to promote Jigsaw. The campaign also opposed restrictions on LGBTQ blood donors, which adds a small identity signal through marketing rather than the film's plot.

Creator track record context
The Spierig brothers' cached scores are 3 each, and their genre work has no activist pattern. Leigh Whannell's higher cached score reflects concern about gun violence rather than identity politics. The creative team therefore adds only a small creator track record context.
