Little Brother is a raunchy, R-rated buddy comedy starring John Cena as Rudd Landy, a tightly wound real estate agent whose curated life is thrown into complete chaos when Marcus (Eric André), his chaotic former childhood mentee, unexpectedly resurfaces. The film functions as a throwback to early-2000s gross-out comedies, centering on sibling rivalry, marital stress, and fraternal bonds. While the narrative employs familiar modern tropes—such as an uptight, wealthy white protagonist needing personal growth from a free-spirited minority character—it maintains a traditional nuclear family structure. Ultimately, its crude, unrestricted slapstick and focus on male relationship dynamics keep the story grounded as a non-ideological throwback.

The film satirizes high-society vanity, reality TV producers, and wealthy elites through characters like Rudd and his arrogant older brother Josh. This plays into a standard "hate the rich guy" comedic formula, though it remains a light, non-ideological parody rather than a systemic critique.
