Tom Buckingham is an SAS soldier on a trip with his girlfriend Sophie when bad guys take over their train under the English Channel. The attackers, called the Black Swans and led by Grace Lewis, want money and to hurt the British government. Tom has to fight them alone while people in power try to hide their own dirty secrets. The movie is a loud, violent action thriller with twists and a heavy body count.
The story is about soldiers, a train hijacking, and a cover-up. Grace is a tough female boss of the mercenaries, and Sophie is a doctor who stays to help hostages. The plot also shows a British prime minister and a gas company who hired killers to clear a village for a pipeline, then tried to hide it. A normal viewer would mainly notice guns, double-crosses, and Tom as the hero, not modern identity lectures or activist sermons.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for SAS: Red Notice (rise of the black swan).
Woke representation / casting
Modern UK cast with a woman leading the villains and some non-white supporting roles (including the PM). Feels like normal mainstream casting more than a heavy “look how diverse we are” push. Lead hero is still a white male SAS soldier.
22%
Woke political dialogue
Lines stay on threats, money, war crimes cover-ups, and fighting. No clear activist talk about race, gender identity, or social justice slogans.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Core story is soldier vs. mercenaries, plus romance and a dirty government deal. Identity politics (race, queer themes, gender ideology) are not the engine of the plot.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
UK leaders and a gas firm hire killers, then hide it. That is classic thriller corruption, not a modern lecture on patriarchy, whiteness, or “toxic” tradition.
5%
Woke character or canon changes
Not present in this title.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
No meaningful right-leaning or anti-woke campaign treating this title as woke propaganda was found.
0%
Creator track record context
Key creatives score near zero in the cached profiles; McNab’s work is military-thriller focused, not identity activism.
