Melissa Moody arrives at the Chase family home five years after Ronnie, her former boyfriend, died in a limousine crash. She is close to giving birth, and she says Ronnie is the father even though he has been dead for years. Ronnie’s mother Charlene and brother Philip try to learn whether Melissa is telling the truth. The film moves through a small upstate New York community with a tense, gloomy, and sometimes strange mood.
The story follows grief, guilt, belief, and the secrets that people hide inside families. Charlene searches medical facts while Philip follows personal clues, and both men and women make choices that add to the danger. The film later reveals that Melissa was drugged and abused by the older man who cared for her, which turns the mystery into a story about control and broken trust. It also shows how the family faces a painful past while trying to protect Melissa and her baby.

Creator track record context
The cached creator record shows mild links to identity-focused work. Eric Garcia has representation-first work on his record, and John Searles is openly gay. Some producers have queer or gender-related credits, but Athale and most of the team have little activist history.
