Will joins Christy, Michelle, and Antonio to prepare a children's language camp in a remote part of Spain. Three counselors come from the United States, while Antonio helps run the site and knows the area. A sick dog starts a chain of attacks before the children arrive, and a rage virus moves through the group. The film uses a fast, bloody horror style with dark humor, sudden violence, and danger that keeps changing.
The main story turns on trust, fear, and survival as the counselors switch between normal behavior and violent attacks. Will's care for animals puts him in danger early, while Christy, Michelle, and Antonio react in different ways under pressure. The group must work out whether the infection comes from an animal, the camp's water, or something in the woods before the children arrive. The film suggests that polite behavior and friendship can break down when people lose control of their instincts.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Summer Camp.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The four main workers are three Americans hired for English immersion and one Spanish local. That setup explains the international cast, and the film does not frame the group as a diversity statement.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue covers camp work, trust, the infection, and survival. It does not push identity, DEI, gender-role, or activist ideas.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The story follows a rage infection and changing trust among the counselors. The women and men have different traits, but the film does not build its conflict around race, sex, sexuality, or identity.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The broken camp, the animals, and the infected counselors create the danger. The film does not attack modern Western institutions, family life, faith, capitalism, or traditional social norms.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original horror story. It does not adapt a known character, franchise, book, or real event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints

Creator track record context
Danielle Schleif has a socially aware film record that includes migration, religion, displacement, cultural identity, and human-rights subjects. Her work shows a representation-aware pattern, but the available record does not show a strong partisan or activist public image. Alberto Marini and the listed producers and casting directors have no strong recorded pattern of identity activism. Summer Camp does not carry Schleif's social focus into its horror story.
