Take Down follows Kyle Hartmann, a spoiled young heir who drinks, crashes a car, and leaves Amy hurt. His father uses his power to keep him out of jail and sends him to a hard survival camp on a remote Scottish island. The camp holds wealthy young people from several countries who must learn discipline, teamwork, and basic outdoor skills. When armed mercenaries seize the camp and demand a billion-dollar ransom, Kyle must stop running and help the others survive. The film has a tense, straightforward action-thriller tone.
The story begins as a lesson about rich children facing the results of their choices. Kyle changes from a selfish runaway into a young man who protects the group and accepts danger for other people. Amy remains important because she resents Kyle, survives the attack, and helps fight back after suffering a serious injury. The film uses a mixed group of young characters inside an international ransom story. Its main focus is survival, violence, teamwork, and personal responsibility.
