Personal context

Summary

Sebastian Koch is a German actor known for The Lives of Others, Todesspiel, Black Book, and Bridge of Spies. His roles often include complex figures in German history and political dramas, including Andreas Baader, Claus von Stauffenberg, and an artist monitored by the Stasi. In a 2006 interview, he called himself not especially political and recalled attending a few demonstrations; in a 2026 interview, he compared Donald Trump, Geert Wilders, and Viktor Orbán to political models of the 1930s and warned about democratic erosion. No public statements on DEI, identity politics, or identity-focused activism are on record.
