After a honeymoon in Havana, Dominic Toretto is blackmailed by the cyberterrorist Cipher into turning on his crew. Cipher uses Dom’s secret son and Elena as leverage to force his hand. Hobbs, Shaw, Letty, and the rest of the team chase the threat from Berlin to New York to Russia. They must stop Cipher from taking over a nuclear submarine. The story tests loyalty, fatherhood, and trust inside the family creed.
The film is built on found-family loyalty, betrayal, and big globe-trotting action, not modern identity politics. Dialogue sticks to family, cars, banter, and thriller blackmail rather than activist talk about race, gender, or oppression. A multiracial crew and Ramsey as a black British woman tech genius are the main visible diversity signals, and they fit the franchise’s international street-racing spy world. Women still mostly support the male leads, and the movie does not sell first-female identity politics. U.S. and intel figures act as allies while the villain is a private cyberterrorist, and Cuba is shown as spectacle rather than anti-Western guilt.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Fate of the Furious.
Woke representation / casting
The multiracial crew is easy for audiences to see and is often praised as diversity success. Ramsey is still a major black British woman tech genius. That mix fits this modern international street-racing spy world more than a one-film quota insert. Women still mostly back up the male leads, and the marketing did not sell first-female identity politics.

Identity-driven story themes
The main engine is Dom forced to protect his child, the crew stopping nuclear terrorism, and the family coming back together. Multicultural found-family is mood and franchise brand, not a modern identity-politics argument.

Creator track record context
Public talk for this team stayed on entertainment, family, and craft. It did not brand the movie as an activist identity project. Cached scores for the group are low overall, with Gray higher for racial-history work framed as realism and others mostly single digits.
