Loki is sent away from Asgard after another round of trouble with his father, Odin. He lands in Springfield and joins Bart Simpson, who sees a fellow troublemaker and a possible new brother. Loki turns against the family when Lisa challenges him, but Lisa finds Thor’s hammer and brings the town’s Marvel heroes after him. The short is a fast, silly crossover built around jokes, comic-book references, family trouble, and several scenes after the credits.
Lisa takes Thor’s powers and leads the Springfield heroes for a short part of the story. The choice puts a girl in a famous hero role and follows the newer Marvel idea of Jane Foster becoming Thor. The short plays the change as a fast joke tied to the family rivalry between Lisa and Bart. Loki also says that beer bottles fill the ocean and that the planet is dying, which adds one brief environmental warning. The main story stays focused on jealousy, family, and Loki’s wish to find a home.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Good, the Bart, and the Loki.
Woke representation / casting
Lisa Simpson is given Mjolnir and becomes Thor for the final fight. Lisa then leads the Springfield heroes against Loki. This is a clear female version of a famous male hero in a prominent role. The short uses the choice as a quick joke based on Jane Foster becoming Thor, so the representation emphasis is brief.
12%
Woke political dialogue
Loki says the free beer will ruin lives and that bottles still fill the ocean even when marked recyclable. Loki then says, “Your planet is dying.” This is one quick environmental warning in a post-credits joke. The short does not return to that idea.
6%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The story centers on Loki’s family jealousy, Bart’s mischief, and a Marvel parody. Lisa’s Thor role is a quick plot joke, not a continuing identity-driven story theme.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The TVA hearing and the jokes about Disney are Marvel and company jokes. The short does not make a modern activist critique of Western institutions, family life, religion, or male roles.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Lisa temporarily uses Thor’s powers in a crossover joke. The short does not present that change as a message about identity or representation.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
The Federalist published a right-leaning review that called the short “woke corporate” and said it showed Disney’s cynical shift. The review mainly attacked corporate promotion and the loss of older Simpsons satire. The article did not name a specific race, sex, sexuality, or DEI scene. The separate X research pass found no anti-woke posts, so the complaint was isolated and limited.
18%
Creator track record context
Al Jean has a mild liberal history and oversaw a past Simpsons LGBTQ story. Matt Groening has donated to Democrats and built a career around broad liberal satire. James L. Brooks has a stronger liberal and representation-related record, and Richard Sakai has supported civil-rights groups. The other listed creators have little or no high-confidence activist record. This gives the short some background context, but the title itself is a brief Marvel crossover.
