Corey Stoll

Personal context

Summary

Corey Stoll is an American actor known for House of Cards, The Strain, Billions, Ant-Man, and his portrayal of Ernest Hemingway in Midnight in Paris. His roles often center on morally complicated or troubled men, from a politician grappling with addiction to a scientist and a boxer. In 2017, after playing Brutus in the Public Theater’s Trump-themed Julius Caesar, he defended the production’s artistic complexity, describing the act of making art amid protests as a form of resistance. He has also said that art cannot reliably give audiences a particular political view; no public statements on identity politics, DEI, or identity-based activism are on record.
