Kristen Wiig

Personal context

Summary

Kristen Wiig is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer known for seven seasons on Saturday Night Live, the comedy Bridesmaids, and roles in film and television across comedy, drama, and animation. Her work often features eccentric characters and ensemble humor; Bridesmaids helped establish her as a writer and lead in a female-centered comedy. Wiig has said she was surprised and saddened by controversy over Ghostbusters because its cast was made up of women, while describing Bridesmaids as a comedy with many women rather than as a feminist project. No public record of sustained political campaigning, DEI affiliations, or activism is evident.
