Michael Johnston

Personal context

Summary

Michael Johnston is an American actor known for Teen Wolf, the coming-of-age film Slash, and voice work in animation and video games. His screen roles include queer characters and stories about sexuality, but he has said he approaches roles by looking for their humanity rather than treating sexuality as their defining feature. He has spoken publicly about coming out, the impact his Teen Wolf role had on LGBTQ+ viewers, and his hope to tell a meaningful queer story; he has also called for more socially relevant queer films and equal treatment. No public record of party campaigning, formal DEI roles, or advocacy beyond LGBTQ+ representation is established.
