Omid Djalili

Personal context

Summary

Omid Djalili is a British comedian and actor whose stand-up and screen work often draw on Middle Eastern politics, cultural stereotypes, and the experience of being Iranian British. His comedy has used humor to challenge stereotypes, while his public record also includes sustained advocacy on Iran: he has spoken at Parliament about human rights, written about the persecution of Bahá’ís, and publicly supported women’s rights in Iran. He has said he has no party agenda; no public record of DEI roles or Western party campaigning is evident.
