Summary

Rosy McEwen is a British actor known for Blue Jean, The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, and stage roles including Desdemona in Othello. Her work often explores complex women and their inner lives; she has said that giving women a voice may be one purpose of her acting. Discussing Blue Jean, she compared Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill to Section 28, welcomed its portrayal of queer joy, and said she was proud to be part of a rare story about a gay couple simply living their lives. Her public comments on representation and politics are concentrated around these projects; no broader activist affiliations or campaign activity are on record.
