Thomas Lennon

Personal context

Summary

Thomas Lennon is an American comedian, actor, and screenwriter, known for co-creating Reno 911! and co-writing studio comedies including Night at the Museum and Balls of Fury. His work is largely broad, irreverent comedy; Reno 911! uses an ensemble of eccentric characters and politically incorrect police satire, including Jim Dangle, the gay lieutenant Lennon has played for years. Lennon has described the show as diverse, with characters holding different opinions, and defended a gender-pronoun sketch he wrote as funny. He also joined The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper at Trump campaign rallies in character as Dangle. No public record of sustained DEI roles, identity-advocacy campaigns, or open-letter activism is established.
