Tom Taylor

Personal context

Summary

Tom Taylor is an Australian writer, playwright, and screenwriter known for comics including Injustice, DCeased, Nightwing, and Superman: Son of Kal-El, as well as the graphic novel series The Deep and Neverlanders. His work ranges from superhero action and alternate-universe stories to adventure and horror, with LGBTQ representation recurring in some of his recent DC work. Taylor co-wrote Dreamer’s introduction into DC comics and wrote Jon Kent as bisexual; he has said bisexual representation in comics is long overdue and described another straight white Superman as a missed opportunity. He has also rejected Comicsgate, saying comics are for everyone, and donated to LGBTQ organizations in response to homophobic threats. No public record of party campaigning or broader protest activism is evident.
