Treat Williams

Personal context

Summary

Treat Williams was an American actor and singer whose work ranged from the musical Hair and the crime drama Prince of the City to the family television series Everwood. Across film, television, and theater, he played both likable characters and darker roles. In a 2020 interview, he said he was proud of Hallmark’s first Christmas movie to feature a married gay couple, praised the network for becoming more inclusive, and said it would gain a broader audience. He also described himself as an Independent, said he voted for Joe Biden, and urged listening to people with differing political views; no public record of sustained political or identity-focused advocacy is established.
