2024– · Based on 3 seasons through September 15, 2026 ·
The Creep Tapes follows Josef, a lonely and dangerous man who records the people he tricks into meeting him. Each short episode shows a new victim entering his home, workplace, or other private place for a paid filming job. Josef acts friendly, strange, and helpless before he turns the camera into a record of murder. The show uses dark humor, awkward talks, sudden violence, and found-footage horror. The show does not build its story around modern identity politics or activist ideas. Some victims are women, and season three includes stories about gendered fear and sexual shame, but these ideas serve the horror plots rather than a larger political message. Josef often mocks social behavior, fame, money, loneliness, and true-crime culture. The series mainly studies manipulation, cruelty, fear, and the danger of trusting a stranger.
